The Environmental Services Department is responsible for controlling the factors that affect public health and cause damage to property and infrastructure, and for maintaining the aesthetic value of the environment achieved through a combination of advocacy, education, collaboration and enforcement reaching everywhere from private premises to public markets and schools.

To advocate for, educate on, and enforce sound environmental and sanitation practices that protect public health and the aesthetic value of Ikorodu North.
1. Where We Are Now
The department currently runs monthly sanitation exercises, inspects markets, schools and food premises, manages waste evacuation and drainage clearing, and enforces sanitation regulations across Ikorodu North.
3. Where We Intend to Be
The department is working toward more frequent drainage evacuation ahead of the rainy season, expanded market inspection coverage, and stronger enforcement against illegal dumping keeping pace with a growing population's sanitation needs.
